Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. Information We Collect

PanSignal is a free radio streaming service that does not require an account or registration. We collect minimal data to operate the service:

  • Usage data — pages visited, stations played, and general interaction patterns to help us improve the service
  • Device information — browser type, operating system, and screen size for compatibility purposes
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address to suggest nearby stations and determine local time for our Vibe Engine

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used to:

  • Provide and maintain the radio streaming service
  • Personalize your experience with location-relevant stations and vibes
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve performance and features
  • Detect and prevent abuse or technical issues

3. Cookies & Local Storage

PanSignal uses cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:

  • Preferences — remembering your cookie consent choice, favorite stations, and volume settings
  • Geolocation redirect — a cookie to remember your country so we can show relevant stations on future visits
  • Local storage — your favorite stations, last-played station, and volume settings are saved in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to PanSignal or any third party.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) tracks page views, station interactions, and approximate location derived from your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Declining cookies may limit some personalization features but will not prevent you from using the service.

4. Third-Party Services

Radio streams are provided by third-party broadcasters. When you play a station, your browser connects directly to that station's stream server, which is governed by the broadcaster's own privacy practices. PanSignal does not control or monitor these connections.

Audio Stream Delivery (HLS Bridge)

Some radio stations broadcast over plain HTTP, which modern browsers block on secure (HTTPS) pages. To deliver these streams, PanSignal routes them through a server-side proxy ("HLS bridge"). During proxying, your IP address is processed to establish the connection. No listening history or personal data is retained beyond the active session, and server access logs are purged within 30 days.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, United States) to understand how visitors use PanSignal. Google acts as a data processor under GDPR Article 28. Analytics data is collected only after you consent via the cookie banner. See Google's Analytics Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain aggregated, anonymized usage data for service improvement. Since we do not collect personal accounts or identifying information, there is no personal data profile associated with individual users. Browser-stored data (cookies, local storage) remains on your device until you clear it.

  • Server access logs — purged within 30 days
  • Google Analytics data — retained for 14 months (Google's default), then automatically deleted
  • Browser data — cookies and local storage remain on your device until you clear them

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Clear cookies and local storage data at any time through your browser
  • Decline non-essential cookies via our consent banner
  • Request information about any data we may hold
  • Request deletion of any data associated with your usage

To exercise these rights, please email us at contact@pansignal.com.

For European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Legal basis: We process data based on legitimate interest (operating a free service) and your consent (cookies and analytics).
  • Right to access: Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").

  • Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: You may file a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
  • Global Privacy Control: PanSignal honors the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out request. When detected, analytics cookies are automatically declined.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@pansignal.com.

7. For California Users (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with specific rights:

  • Right to know: You may request what personal information we collect and how it is used.
  • Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information.
  • Right to opt-out: You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. PanSignal does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
  • Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

PanSignal does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months.

To exercise these rights or learn more, visit our Your Privacy Choices page or email us at contact@pansignal.com.

8. International Data

PanSignal is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your usage data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using PanSignal, you consent to this transfer. We process minimal, anonymized data and do not maintain personal user profiles.

9. Children's Privacy

PanSignal does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Our service is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
